Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on your current setup. If your switchboard is modern, has spare circuit capacity, and already has safety switches (RCDs), you likely won't need an upgrade. If you have an older switchboard with ceramic fuses, or no spare circuits, an upgrade will be required before installation. We assess your switchboard as part of the quoting process and will let you know upfront — no surprises.
-
The cost varies depending on the charger brand you choose, your property type, and whether your switchboard needs any work ahead of installation. We provide a fixed, upfront quote before any work starts so you know exactly what you're paying. No hidden costs, no surprises. Fill out the form above to get your free quote.

In most cases, a standard home EV charger installation takes 2 to 4 hours and is completed in a single visit. If a switchboard upgrade is also required, allow a full day. We'll give you a clear timeframe when we quote.

We install all major brands. Not sure which charger is right for your EV or property? We recommend the best option for your setup as part of the quoting process.

Yes, though it does depend on your strata rules and the location of your car space relative to your switchboard. We've completed installs in apartments and townhouses across Sydney and can advise on feasibility during the quote. If strata approval is needed, we can provide documentation to support your application.

A Level 1 charger uses a standard 10-amp wall socket and delivers roughly 10km of range per hour — fine for occasional top-ups but too slow for daily use. A Level 2 charger runs on a dedicated 32-amp circuit and delivers up to 45km of range per hour, meaning a full overnight charge every night. For anyone driving regularly, a Level 2 home charger is the practical choice. This is what ETS Electrical installs.
